“Do not wait: the time will never be ‘just right’. Start where you stand, and work whatever tools you may have at your command and better tools will be found as you go along.” – Napoleon Hill

So here I am nearing the end of week #1 of the Master Key Mastermind Alliance 2015, and I will tell you it’s been quite an experience. There will be a lot to comment on the the coming 6 months, however tonight I will take a few steps back in order that by moving forward you may understand what prompted my participation in this particular series.

You see, I’m the guy with talent galore. Experience, skill sets, abilities, opportunities, “it”, total package, the whole enchilada….you get where I’m going with this by now. Yet, my successes have been temporary. There hasn’t been a sustainable period in my life over the past 10 years  that demonstrated my capabilities. Even during the trying economy many people were prospering, yet I had struggled.

On stage, teleconference or webinar I was spectacular yet my results were sub par. I wasn’t sure what to do to create change. Then one day whilst watching “The Princess Bride” it smacked me in the face. The scene where Inigo Montoya was drunk and fighting with the bad guys, and his partner Fezzik reunites with him. Montoya says, “Vizzini said if we ever get separated to go back to the beginning and this is the beginning.

Wow, could it bee that simple? The answer was obvious – YES!

As an assistant coach for Taekwondo at the US Olympic Center one of the tasks for incoming resident athletes was to be broken down technically and strategically, then built back up to higher level. In short, they’d come in as 7’s or 8’s, be broken down to a 4 or 5, then built back up to a 9 or 10.

You can’t get there from here.” That’s where I found myself, so it was time to break myself down, to let go of all my NLP Mastery etc and become a student again. I’m a believer that everything happens with a positive intention and as I began to reread the Master Key System by Charles Haanel, a post popped up in one of my social networks about the Master Key Mastermind Alliance, a 26 week guided study course into the Master Key System combined with other classic pieces of literature in the personal development genre.

I watched all the videos as quickly as possible expecting a huge price tag after such a thorough presentation of value and then was hit with this shocker….it’s a scholarship based program. Whuh?! Huh?! Wait, you mean….you’re telling me that….huh?

You see the way it’s set up, someone else had already paid it forward. All I had to do was follow through on a few simple tasks and I was in. Did it, got it, now it’s “Game on!” I even brought a friend along for the ride.

So if you know it all, have all the talent, the answers and the witty repartee without the results. Follow along for the ride and see how I do….you may just to step off your high horse, clear your ego, empty your cup or whatever is in your way and become all that you were meant to be. I say this to you, gentle reader, to provide an example of a man who wasted his gifts for far too long….

Until next time put everything you have into everything you do!
